Safaris

Select a Jeep Safari to explore and get to the park because of the uneven landscape of the park. If you have your own car, park authorities can not do it at home, but make sure you do it, and the park guide. You can hire a jeep to Sasan agent or tour operators. It is a minivan you walk in the park, a place must be reserved before the park office. This safari is available 6:30 am to 9:30 am and from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm.

Best Time to Visit Gir National Park

Reaching the Gir National Park
 

* By Air: 
The nearest airport is Keshod, but the Rajkot airport is convenient one from where you can catch a bus or taxi.

* By Rail (Train): 

The nearest stations are Sasan Gir and Veraval, but still the comfortable one is Rajkot. The Rajkot station is well connected to Delhi and Mumbai. Ahmedabad station is also preferable.

* By Road: 

Catch a State Transport bus from Junagadh and Veraval available between November and June. To reach from Ahmedabad, NH8A to Chotila via Bagodra, Limbdi and Sayla is proper. From here, drive on the district road to Sasan Gir through Khadia and Mendarda. Volvo buses are available between Ahmedabad and Junagadh at Rs. 200 and then catch a mini bus.

* Avoid any kind of noise, as that might scare animals.
